shabby mother’s day card

This is the card I made for my mum for Mother’s Day – she’s a historian so loves anything with a vintage feel. In an Antiques Market I found an Edwardian Mother’s Day card which I gave to her along with this card, and a history book she wanted.

I stamped one of the individual damask stamps from Dawn McVey’s fabulous Damask Designs set with Sweet Blush ink on Vintage Cream cardstock. I repeatedly stamped the XOs from the Heart Prints set for the horizontal layer, then stamped, punched out and layered some hearts from the same set.

Finally I distressed the edges, sponged on some Antique Linen Distress Ink, added some Sweet Blush Grosgrain ribbon, pom-poms, a button and pearls. Quite a different look from the one layer cards!

Thanks for visiting and don’t forget our current challenge 😉

  1. Lovely card Kate!I was wondering if either you or Steph knew what the 2009 Anniversary set looks like (and where I might find a picture of it)? I have qualified for one, but can’t find a pic anywhere and am jumping up and down in anticipation of it arriving here (in the far flung Down Under ;-).Cheers,Sam.
