Hello? Testing…testing…1,2,3…*tap tap*….is this thing on? Here goes:

Well it’s been an extremely long time since our last post. Life has been busy and 2013 has thrown some curveballs – one of which has been this blog. For those who don’t know, we ran this challenge site ourselves. We paid for prizes out of our own pockets and received no products or incentive to promote Papertrey Ink. In recent times, we’ve all found little time to keep the challenges going and therefore, we have made the decision to close A Passion for Papertrey.

The blog will remain open, and who knows what may happen in the future, but for now there are no planned future challenges.

However, we have one last point of business before closing for good and that’s selecting a winner from our last challenge:

Number 1 is lucky for Maria F who has just won a $5 Papertrey Ink gift certificate! Congrats, Maria! We’re sending you your prize today so please email us if you don’t receive it within the next 24 hours.

Finally, we’d like to thank you for playing along with our challenges and making A Passion for Papertrey a fun challenge site. Without you, it would have never have worked so thank YOU for making it a fun few years! 🙂

Aimes, Caryn & Kate

It’s a day late, the summer holidays are keeping me busier than I’d planned, but I’m here with the winners from our previous Birthday Challenge.

We were overwhelmed with the amount of entries and stunning cards we saw, thank you so much to all who joined in the fun with us! 🙂

So, without further ado, it’s time to draw the random winner of a Papertrey Ink $5 gift certificate:

winnerNumber 16 is lucky for Jean! Congrats Jean! Pop us an email and we’ll get that $5 gift certificate on its way to you. 🙂

And now for our Top 3 PTI Passionistas. With such a high level of entries, each one of which worthy of being a top 3, it made it super tough to narrow the field down to just three entries. However, after much ooohing and ahhhing we’ve selected the following:SueWe loved Sue’s stamping on this birthday card! So fun and bright!

JanetJanet’s super trendy, collage-style birthday card is fabulous in design and rocks the CAS collage look.

And who said collage style had to remain CAS? Betty had our jaws hitting the keyboard with this stunning birthday card. So much attention to detail!

Congrats to our Top 3 PTI Passionistas! Please feel free to grab a blinkie to blink with pride on your blog here.

Seeing as we’re a day late posting the winners, we’ll post our new challenge tomorrow. I hope you can join us then! 🙂

We have a Winner!

Thanks so much to everyone who became one with nature for our Inspired by Nature Challenge. Unfortunately I was unable to join the fun for drowning under a mountain of paperwork. However, the good news is that I’ve tackled that mountain, and I’m back to reveal the winner and Top 3 PTI Passionistas for the challenge. 🙂

So without further ado, do your thing Mr Random.org!

WinnerOur randomly selected winner is Camilla! Congrats, Camilla, you’ve just bagged yourself a $5 PTI gift certificate. Please email us (see the contact tab at the top of the page) and we’ll get that gift certificate sorted for you.

We were overwhelmed by a whopping 18 entries for this challenge! So much inspiration on offer and we especially liked these three for our Top 3 PTI Passionistas.

TaraTara wowed us with this bright and cheerful bouquet of flowers. We loved the clever use of vellum for the jar!

SharonSharon stamped a beautiful, picturesque scene for her card – the dimensions she’s added really brings that bird to life!

AnniAnni had our jaws hitting our keyboards her painting skills creating a card that’s truly a work of art and heart!

Congrats ladies! Please feel free to grab our Top 3 blinkie for your blogs to blink with pride if you haven’t already got one!

Thank you once again to everyone who joined in the fun with us. We love to see your entries and we hope that you can tune in tomorrow for a brand new challenge! 🙂

Our Touchy-Feely Winners!

Thanks so much to everyone who got touchy-feely with us for our previous texture challenge. We were blown away by the creativity and clever ways you added texture to your creations!

So it’s time to pick a winner, so do your thing, Mr Random.org

winnerThat’s number 8 and means that Hanne is our randomly selected winner! Congrats, Hanne! Be sure to pop us an email and we’ll email you a $5 PTI gift certificate 🙂

And drumroll please as we feature our Top 3 PTI Passionistas:

Maureen had our jaws hitting the keyboards with this texture-licious creation. Just look at how much texture is on this beauty! The most impressive part is that all of this texture is balanced and the design isn’t cluttered in the slightest. Fabulous!

100_9887Jean had us rooting for our needles and thread with this card. We wanted to run our fingers over that beautiful sewing that adds sooooooo much texture and makes the texture the star of the card.

KIS-123Christine has simply wowed us with this clever use of washi tape. Not only that, but extra texture is also added by stamping the flower on die-cuts that have been slightly separated and raised on foam pads to give texture to the image – genius!

Congrats, ladies! Please feel free to grab our Top 3 blinkie here if you haven’t already got one and blink with pride! 😀

Thanks once again to everyone who joined in the fun with us. Stay tuned for a new challenge tomorrow!

Lovely Winners

Apologies that we’re a day late announcing the winners from our previous challenge – Love is in the Air. I’m (Aimes here) is taking over for Caryn whilst she spends a lovely week away and I’m spending my lovely half term catching up on things at home.

As always, thank you so much to everyone who inked along with us – we loved seeing your take on the theme of love and I know that I’ve certainly got some inspiration when it comes to making cards for my guy 😉

Mr Random thingy-me-bob has done his thing, so the winner of the a $5 PTI Gift Certificate is:

winnerGreta H!

Congrats, Greta! Be sure to email us (see the contact us tab at the top) and we’ll get that $5 GC to you!

Now onto our Top 3 PTI Passionistas. I know we say it every time, but you really do make it a touch choice. So many various styles and techniques covered that we’d really love to pick ’em all! Still – after much consideration, we decided on the following:

Suzanne’s card really caught our eye with that fantastic paper pleating. What a cool way to add texture to a card and a fab way for using up the DP too (c’mon – we’re all guilty of hoarding it, right?)

Kim’s card certainly packs a punch with those gorgeous bright colours paired with the neutrals. We also love that she used an impression plate in her negative space, adding even more interest to the focal point, and drawing your eye to that flower. Super design!

Sam’s card really made us smile 🙂 It’s so sweet and perfect for the guy geeks (and gal geeks) We loved the dimension added with Glossy Accents to the central beaker too and her finishing touches with the white gel pen.

Congrats Top 3! Feel free to grab our code for a Top 3 blinkie if you haven’t done so already.

Now just because we’re a day behind announcing winners, does not mean we’re a day behind with a new challenge. Stay tuned for a fontastic new challenge coming up soon… 😉

Challenge: Love is in the Air

Hey! Welcome to a brand new challenge here on A Passion for Papertrey!

Are you ready for it? Can you feel it approaching? Have you seen the mass of red and pink adorning the shelves of your supermarket? Yup – St Valentine’s Day is creeping upon us and we’d love for you to ink along with us to celebrate it. 🙂

Don’t fear, your project doesn’t need to actually be for Valentine’s Day, but must have a love theme. I opted for a easy, peasy, lemon-squeezy mini enive using Papertrey Ink’s Seed Packet Die.

for you

Stamps: Wonderful Word Additions (Papertrey Ink)
Card: White (Papertrey Ink)
Patterned Paper: Soft Stone Bitty Dott Basics (Papertrey Ink)
Accessories: Seed Packet Die, Pure Poppy Baker’s Twine (Papertrey Ink)/Heart Paperclip (Office Stash!)

This envie will fit a gift card in perfectly. I’m planning on buying a gift card for our cinema and treating my guy to a date night – heck, I love him so much that I’ll even let him pick the film (I may regret typing/saying that!).

Over to Caryn:

This card features no stamping but plenty of die cutting and is a great way to use up all those little precious scraps of card.  I am loving negative die cutting at the moment – I can’t stop playing!!  I also got this new Memory Box die (Precious Hearts) in the post today too so had to give it a go (I just LOVE it!!).

big hugs

Cardstock: Kraft, Raspberry Fizz, Aqua Mist, Hibiscus Burst, Summer Sunrise, Pure Poppy, Melon BerrySimply Chartreuse, Hawaiian Shores.
Tools: Modern Alphabet (UC), Stitched Squares (Lil’ Inkers), Precious Hearts (Memory Box)

Kate is totally snowed under at the moment so is unable to join in this time around poor thing!

So are you feeling the love? Then be sure to play along with us! One randomly selected peep will win a $5 PTI gift certificate! The challenge ends at 9am GMT Monday 18th February. Full deets of our challenge rules can be found here.

We can’t wait to see what lovey dovey creations you create – especially those for the guys!

Aimes, Caryn & Kate

Aimes here: back and ready to announce the winners of our previous Black and White challenge.

So Mr Random.org thingy-me-bob has awarded a $5 PTI gift certificate to:

(drumroll please)….

Which means that Jean is our winner! Congrats, Jean! Pop us an email (see the ‘contact us’ thingy at the top) and we’ll get your gift certificate sorted for you.

It’s always a toughie, but a Top 3 has to be chosen and we decided upon (in no particular order)

Jean: Lucky winner of our challenge AND a Top 3! Well, how could we resist this card – just about as catchy as the song itself and we *love* the use of a phone for the letter ‘C’. So very clever!

Suzanne’s take on the popular chalkboard technique left us itching to ink up and try this out for ourselves. We love that this is a one layered card too – so much detail and depth on a single sheet of cardstock!

Imke rocked the trendy houndstooth and mix of patterns on this fun card. The use of twine for the telephone wire is simply adorable too!

Congrats, ladies! Feel free to grab the code for the Top 3 blinkie to blink with pride on your blogeroos.

Thank you so much to everyone who joined in the fun with us. We’d *love* for you to join us for our next challenge which starts tomorrow *wink*!

winnerThe winner of a Papertery Ink $5 Gift Certificate is Nancy! Congrats Nancy! Pop us an email and we’ll get that gift certificate sent to you.

Seems like a lot of us were digging into our PTI supplies for the season which made it an extremely tough decision to narrow it down to just a Top 3 but we finally decided on the following:

Stempelomi – what a fabulous use for strips of patterned paper with super stitching, and who can resist those sweet little bells?! Such a lovely, jingly card!

KimKim – oh what a magical card! We love the use of buttons, the sparkles and the delicate colour scheme that make for stunning snowflakes!

LeeLee – really did send holiday joy with this pillow box and coordinating mini-card! What recipient wouldn’t love a present packaged and presented so perfectly?!

Congrats, ladies! Feel free to grab the code on the ‘Grab a Blinkie’ page at the top of our blog and blink with pride!
