Challenge – Valentine’s!

Welcome to our first challenge of 2012 here on A Passion for Papertrey! We hope you can ink up and play along with us 🙂

For this fortnight’s challenge we’re looking ahead to the next occasion in our calendars after Christmas: Valentine’s Day! That’s right, it’s never to early to make a card to show someone you care about them:

Card Deets
{Love You}
Stamps: Wonderful Words Additions, Heart – Around and About Sentiments (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento)/Pure Poppy (Papertrey Ink)
Cardstock: White, True Black (Papertrey Ink)
Accessories: Canvas and Linen Impression Plate (Papertrey Ink)/Cuttlebug, Olivia Alphabet Dies (Provocraft)/Novelty Paper Clip (Office Supply)/Gem (Stash!)

This design was totally inspired by some novelty paper clips I had in my stationary stash and will hopefully suit my guy; he’s not one for a huge slush-fest on a piece of card – LOL!

Over to Caryn …

Hello all and Happy New Year! Hope everyone’s creative juices are flowing for our new challenge! I have to say I am in a bit of a lull with my mojo at the minute and really struggled getting this card together! Maybe it’s that post-Christmas lull?!  My inspiration came from my red polka dot table-cloth (I guess it has to come from somewhere!!).

shabby mother’s day card

This is the card I made for my mum for Mother’s Day – she’s a historian so loves anything with a vintage feel. In an Antiques Market I found an Edwardian Mother’s Day card which I gave to her along with this card, and a history book she wanted.

I stamped one of the individual damask stamps from Dawn McVey’s fabulous Damask Designs set with Sweet Blush ink on Vintage Cream cardstock. I repeatedly stamped the XOs from the Heart Prints set for the horizontal layer, then stamped, punched out and layered some hearts from the same set.

Finally I distressed the edges, sponged on some Antique Linen Distress Ink, added some Sweet Blush Grosgrain ribbon, pom-poms, a button and pearls. Quite a different look from the one layer cards!

Thanks for visiting and don’t forget our current challenge 😉

Fabulous Fizz

You might get tired of me mentioning how much I LOVE Papertrey’s Raspberry Fizz colour but I’ll keep on sayin it – I love it!

It really is the most cheerful and uplifting colour ever – seriously, if you’re ever a bit down in the dumps go make something with it and I’ll guarantee it’s cheerfulness will filter through to you!

So here is a quick card using said Raspberry Fizz cardstock (embossed with the Cuttlebug heart folder), polka dots paper from the Raspberry Fizz paper pack, and the Heart Prints set.

And for those of you who also think you might develop a love affair with Rapberry Fizz stop by on Monday for our second challenge… *wink*
