Challenge: Stamp your own background.

Hello, here we are with a brand new challenge to get your creative juices flowing and your fingers inky!!  This time around we want to see your stamped backgrounds please!  You can use any stamps you like (not just background stamps) but just make sure you feature a Papertrey Ink product somewhere on your card!  Can’t wait to see what you all come up with!

As I was shuffling through my PTI sets I stopped on Rosie Posie and it occurred to me that I had never actually inked up the hexagon border stamps in that set!!  I thought I had better rectify that immediately and stamped two of the designs to give me a honeycomb pattern  I don’t know if the sun shining bright today or what but I was drawn to Summer Sunrise and Lemon Tart for my colours and came up with this design.  It totally looks like a honeycomb to me so I paired it with a somewhat appropriate sentiment from Build A Bug from Clearly Besotted Stamps!!

Hi Honey

So that means that TRACEY McNEELY is our winner, yay!!  Let us know your details Tracey and we’ll get your gift certificate over to you in a jiffy!

Now to the Top 3 Passionistas.  It was so hard this time, the cards were all truly gorgeous and with such a wide variety of styles.  Here’s who caught our eye this time…

Joyce

Joyce

Joyce entered a few cards to this challenge but this one was our favourite over all – love the jaunty angles and patterned paper poking out!

Marlou

Marlou

Marlou’s lovely soft colours and clean design really stood out to us.

Rachel

Rachel

What a stunner this card is from Rachel – great hombre effect with the hearts border and the stitching add just the right amount of detail but still keep the card clean and simple.

So girls, if you’d like to proudly sport our winners badge on your blog then please feel free to grab the blinkie from the bar at the top.  And don’t forget to join us for our new challenge tomorrow!!

Bye for now,

Challenge: Let’s Celebrate!

Hey!

It’s time to celebrate our new challenge – literally! We wanna see creations that…well….celebrate! This challenge is pretty open to interpretation – you can ‘celebrate’ anything right?!

I’m sharing a card that celebrated the marriage of a happy couple recently.

{Congratulations}

Card Deets
Stamps: Sentiment from ‘Happily Ever After’ (Clearly Besotted Stamps)
Card: Vintage Cream, Vellum (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Slate (Adirondack)
Patterned Paper: From the Park Bench 6×6 Collection (Fancy Pants)
Accessories: Vintage Cream Satin Ribbon, Cream Button Twine (Papertrey Ink)/Flower Embellishment (Maya Road)

This card features a real mix of products from different manufacturers. I love to do this at times as I feel I’m getting my pennies’ worth with my stash. This card does still feature some Papertrey Ink and so still counts for our challenge of course *wink*

Over to Caryn..

It feels like forever since I made a card and got inky – I’ve been on a blogging “journey” these last couple of weeks creating a new WordPress blog and transferring my old Blogger one over!  (If you want a chance to win some goodies – including some PTI loveliness – pop over and leave a comment to go in the draw at glitter me silly!!). Shameless plug – sorry!  So – this challenge is all about celebration (just about any occasion or event covered in this one) so I went quite literally with the sentiment!  One of my favourite colour combo’s too!  Finally inked up my Watercolour Wonder set too – love the effect (although it does slightly make me think of toothpaste!!)

Our Touchy-Feely Winners!

Hey!

Thanks so much to everyone who got touchy-feely with us for our previous texture challenge. We were blown away by the creativity and clever ways you added texture to your creations!

So it’s time to pick a winner, so do your thing, Mr Random.org

winnerThat’s number 8 and means that Hanne is our randomly selected winner! Congrats, Hanne! Be sure to pop us an email and we’ll email you a $5 PTI gift certificate :)

And drumroll please as we feature our Top 3 PTI Passionistas:

Maureen had our jaws hitting the keyboards with this texture-licious creation. Just look at how much texture is on this beauty! The most impressive part is that all of this texture is balanced and the design isn’t cluttered in the slightest. Fabulous!

100_9887Jean had us rooting for our needles and thread with this card. We wanted to run our fingers over that beautiful sewing that adds sooooooo much texture and makes the texture the star of the card.

KIS-123Christine has simply wowed us with this clever use of washi tape. Not only that, but extra texture is also added by stamping the flower on die-cuts that have been slightly separated and raised on foam pads to give texture to the image – genius!

Congrats, ladies! Please feel free to grab our Top 3 blinkie here if you haven’t already got one and blink with pride! :D

Thanks once again to everyone who joined in the fun with us. Stay tuned for a new challenge tomorrow!

We loved Kim’s use of colour behind her negative die-cut to make sure an uplifting and fresh card – this card just says Hawaii to me!!

D30_5273-a-CopyJW

Just look at all the effort JW put into her super-fun interactive rocket card! Great job JW! I can think of lots of kiddos who would love to receive this!

Lynn’s card jumped out at us because, quite simple, it’s beautiful! Soft colours, lovely use of patterns and a great layout..!(OK I wish I’d made it lol!)

Challenge : Let’s get all touchy-feely!

Hi all!

Thanks for joining us for another challenge! Things are a bit back to front this week so we’ll be bringing the winners of our previous challenge tomorrow.. but for now lets get all touchy-feely shall we?!

Now before you run for the hills bear with us because this challenge is all about using texture on your cards. You can really think outside the box for this one! Think how many ways there are to add that bit of extra dimension and ‘touchy-feeliness’ on your creation!

I recently treated myself to a few more colours of Bakers Twine so decided to use it as a tree top helped along by PTI’s Trendy Tree Tops set:

{Big Birthday Wishes}
Stamps: Trendy Tree Tops
Card: White/New Leaf
Ink: Dark Chocolate, Versafine Black
Other: Baker’s Twine, Trendy Tree Tops Die

Here’s the detail of the tree top, the twine is adhered to a card circle:

Over to Caryn…

I think I channeled my “inner Aimes” for this one!!  Very CAS isn’t it??  I am rediscovering my love of chunky glitter at the moment too and with gold being all the rage right now I thought a texture-themed challenge was the perfect chance to pile it on thick!!!

SONY DSC

{Happy Birthday}
Stamps: Botanical Silhouettes
Card: Stampers Select White
Tools: Heart Prints die collection.
Other: Jute bag (cut up!!), gold glitter (local art shop), glossy accents

Over to Aimes: Well my mojo had gone MIA for this challenge. I chanted to myself ‘texture, texture, texture’ until I got so desperate that I tidied up my desk! Upon tidying my desk, I found a scrap piece of gold, texture card. Eureka!

40

{it’s just a number}
Stamps: Birthday Bash Sentiments (Papertrey Ink)
Card: White, True Black (Papertrey Ink)/Gold (Stash!)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Accessories: Parker Number Dies (Memory Box)

Texture for me, is textured cardstock. :)

So are you ready to play along for a chance to win a $5 PTI Gift Certificate? Have a look here for all the challenge deets. The challenge closes at 9am on Monday 22nd April.

Have fun!

Challenge extended!!

Hello everyone!  Just popping in to let you know we are extending our negative die-cuts challenge for a further week!  Easter has been a busy period for all of us here (busy eating chocolate for one thing) so we thought we’d just let you all have a bit longer to get your creations in!!

Here’s another card I whipped up using one of the latest sets from Papertrey Ink - Irresistibly Ikat – love this set!
